1 December 2022: Rotary SGM and Business Meeting
We had the second of our 100 Club draws today. The organiser spun his famous “100 Club Wheel”. (See picture.) Our Treasurer’s ball came out.
We then started our meetings proper with the Special General Meeting and the election of the following officers for 2023-24:
- First Vice-President
- Second Vice-President
- Assistant Secretary
- Independent Examiner
The main debate at our business meeting was about the structure of future meetings. It was agreed in principle that on one week each month instead of our usual lunchtime meeting we should do something different, such as a coffee morning or a visit to a place of interest followed by a meal in a restaurant or café for those who would like it. We may also reduce some of our meeting formalities, eg by dropping the dress code and no longer starting the meal with grace and ending it with the loyal toast.
